Colorbond steel is coated with an anti-corrosion layer to help protect against rust and other corrosive elements. This is not only important due to the amount of rainfall we can get but due to the coastal nature of where we live. Salt carried on winds can cause corrosion far away from the coastal fringes and knowing you fence will be unaffected is a great peace of mind.

This is a bit of a no brainer considering the first 2 points. The manufacturing process of Colorbond steel is one of extreme quality and it shows in the product. It might be surprising that they actually use 5 layers of different coatings to protect the steel underneath and let the wonderful range of colours shine.

Speaking of colours, there are many to choose from which means you can get the perfect shade to suit your existing look. The colour is actually baked onto the panels which helps prevent flaking and chipping over time. It feels nice knowing your fence is going to look great a decade down the road.

Colorbond is Easy to Maintain

One of the goals of Colorbond is to provide a fencing solution that requires little to no maintenance. At most it would be a great idea to make sure the bottom of the fence is free of debris but other than that you can rest easy. If you really want to you can always carry out a little cleaning with some non-abrasive soap but for the most part the rain will take care of it for you.

As a result the sheets themselves are cooler which is great news if your fence runs close to your home.
